WesTech Training Center is an education and training initiative that prepares learners for competitive career pathways. The mission is to equip adult learners to access wealth. Who's Eligible Students should meet these requirements. Be 18+ years old. Have a genuine desire to learn new technical skills and advance your career. No prior experience necessary. This college-level course is valued at $1,500 per student. WesTech provides the course for a nominal investment of $55 per student due to the support of our funding partners. WesTech is focused on bridging the education and wealth gaps by increasing access to competitive careers in information technology (IT). The class meets at Wesley House weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30pm starting June 28th. The course content is preparation for those who may currently work in the IT field and has interest in pursuing national certifications or someone interested in a career transition. The course also provides intensive personal and professional development. Participants will have an opportunity to receive a certification scholarship valued at $300+. CompTIA A+ Certifications: Dedication Time- 5 to 10 hours a week. Completion Time Completion Time-Job ready in less than 3 months CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for establishing a career in IT and is the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. Companies like Intel, Dell, Ricoh, Nissan, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and HP all look for the CompTIA A+ certification when hiring for jobs like IT support specialist, IT field service technician, desktop support analyst and help desk tier 2 support. Having IT certifications makes a great first impression when you’re looking for a job. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), 96 percent of human resources managers use IT certifications as screening or hiring criteria during recruitment.
